July Glossybox USA 2012

Hello readers! Guess what? I finally got my July Glossybox! This month’s Glossybox theme is Summer Nights. Does Summer Nights remind you of a song?

Something noticeable about this month's box is that it did not come in the grey and pink mailing box. It's no big deal really. Just wondering if this is a permanent change or if I'm the only one...?

What do you think so far? Is there anything that’s catching your eyes? No need to feel bad if there’s none since I felt the same way. Ugh! The only thing I like out of this box is the eyeshadow trio by Senna Cosmetics.

I’m on the fence with everything else and I am mostly upset that I got the Sebastian Color Ignite Multi Tone Shampoo & Conditioner. I wouldn’t mind getting Sebastian hair products in the future, but it has to be something for my hair type. My hair is not colored nor is it highlighted and these Sebastian products are meant for colored hair. 

I read somewhere that Glossybox USA is working out a few of their kinks at the moment and I hope that they work on tailoring the boxes to correspond with each person’s beauty profile. Leave me a comment and let me know what you got in your box or if you’ve tried any of the products I received.

I mentioned in my last post that my beautyADDICTS Show Off Mascara was damaged and I contacted Glossybox about it.  I want to let you all know that I received it the day before I got this month’s Glossybox and it took about 2-3 weeks for me to get my new replacement. No complaints here, just a big ole’ “Thank you, GB! Great customer service!”

July Birchbox

This is my fourth box from Birchbox, another monthly beauty subscription service. I peeked before I received my box and knew what I was getting, which totally ruined the excitement of receiving this month's box. I’ll refrain from peeking ever again. Ok I’ll try to refrain… hopefully.

My July Birchbox arrived early on July 13, compared to the usual 16^th-19^th of the month. This month’s theme is the five senses of summer and is in collaboration with Glamour Magazine.

I hate to say this…. but I don’t care for this month’s box L  The only thing that I felt was exciting is my beautyblender (my first!). I did not care for the Stila Lip Glaze. That was until tonight! I actually used it to work and my impression has changed. A review will be on the way!

beautyADDICTS ShowOff Mascara

*Note: I wanted to post my review of this mascara days ago but I ran into an issue with the stopper not working any longer. I contacted Glossybox to see if I can get a replacement and I finally got a reply yesterday. Glossybox said that they would gladly send me a replacement as soon as possible.*

Hi again! Thanks for stopping by my humble little corner on the web J Today I bring you my review of ShowOff Mascara by beautyADDICTS!

This mascara is my first ever product from beautyADDICTS and I was very impressed. I’ve used it several times since I got it in my Glossybox last week.  Normally, I’m not crazy about buying mascara since it expires much earlier than other makeup products. I generally buy mascara and use it throughout the months. My favorite has been Lancome’s Hypnose Drama but I don’t know how long that will last.

This mascara claims to have argan oil in its formula as a way to condition and protect your lashes. The wand is one of those weirdly curved ones with a flat side. I prefer straight bristle brush wands since it’s easy to work with. What do I do when I end up with a different wand? I work with it, of course! So this isn’t a big deal for me.

I did run into a problem with the stopper not working after a couple of uses. Instead of getting a controlled amount of mascara, I got a bunch of goop. I wrote Glossybox about a replacement and one will be on its way pretty soon.

My verdict on this mascara: I LOVE IT! I really do. It coats my lashes beautifully and has a great lasting power. Furthermore there is no running or flaking! I love it and will definitely consider repurchasing it.

June Glossybox USA

Here I am with the third post on my blog about my first Glossybox USA!!! Glossybox is my latest monthly beauty subscription service and also my first shipment. This is June’s box, which I received on Tuesday.

How cute is the box? I’m definitely not tossing this. I can use it for gifting purposes or storage. Let’s take a look inside this cute box now!

I wasn’t quite excited about this box at first glance. The only thing I was oohing and aahing over was the beautyADDICTS Show-Off Mascara. I must say that I judged too early! I’m now in love with the First Aid Beauty shave cream and Shea Terra Organics body crème.

My Shea Terra Organics came in the bourbon vanilla scent- which has been my latest scent favorite this year (all types of vanilla).  It was suppose to be in a whipped form but mine experiences a mishap.

The summer heat melted my poor whipped bourbon vanilla.

TheLookBag June edition

Hello Readers! I hope the start to your week is going as good as mine. I want to share with you all what I got in the mail today.

TheLookBag! I finally received my June bag, which makes it my second bag and also my last! TheLookBag is a monthly subscription of sample makeup & beauty items from TheLookStore.com. It is just one of the many monthly makeup subscription services out right now. For $10 a month, you get 5 deluxe to sample sized products. Although I think TheLookBag provides good brand variety, I did not want to chance another occurrence of being charged and not receiving my bag. I don’t know exactly what happened at TheLookBag, but a lot of customers did not get their bags and all calls and emails went unanswered for a few weeks. I know I called them several times a day only to have my call routed to voicemail. Anyway, whatever shake up happened there is supposedly fixed now and everything is back to normal. Like I said, although I like the variety of brands from this company, I just do not want to go through another frustrating time with them.
